Disfluency 2025
Disfluency is written and directed by Anna Baumgarten, in her stunning feature directorial debut. It is based on the 2021 short film of the same title, also written by Baumgarten. Disfluency is set to be released by Buffalo 8 in select US theaters on January 10, 2025, followed by a digital release on January 24, 2025.
The drama film is produced by Baumgarten, Elaine Hastings Edell, and Danny Mooney. The film stars Libe Barer, reprising her role as Jane. Ariela Barer, Chelsea Alden, Dylan Arnold, Molly Hagan, and Travis Tope also star.
Disfluency had its world premiere at the Austin Film Festival on October 23, 2021, where it bagged the Narrative Feature – Jury Award. The acclaimed film also notched 14 more wins from other film festivals including Best Screenplay and Best Actress at Newport Beach Film Festival; Best Narrative Feature at Lake County Film Festival; Best Narrative Feature at Portland Film Festival; and Best Feature Narrative at Eastern Oregon Film Festival, among others.
