Haunted Heart (aka The Island) is directed by filmmaker Fernando Trueba (Opera Prima, Belle Epoque, The Dancer and the Thief, Chico & Rita, The Queen of Spain, Memories of My Father, They Shot the Piano Player), from a screenplay he co-wrote with Rylend Grant. It is set to be released by Signature Entertainment on VOD in the UK on September 23, 2024. No US release date has been set yet.
The romance thriller film is produced by Dago García, Cristina Huete, and Fernando Trueba. It had its world premiere at the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest (AMFF) on July 20, 2024. Starring Matt Dillon and Aida Folch.
