Walker is an American action crime drama television series developed by Anna Fricke for The CW. It is executive produced by Fricke, Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore, Jared Padalecki, Russel Friend, John Patterson, and Steve Robin. The series is a reboot of the 1990s western drama television series Walker, Texas Ranger. It premiered on January 21, 2021 and was renewed through to a fourth season, which debuted on April 3, 2024 on The CW.
The series centers on Cordell Walker (Jared Padalecki), a man finding his way back to his family while investigating crime in the state’s most elite unit. A widower and a father of two, he returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years for a high profile case-only to discover that there’s even more work to be done at home.
Season 4 picks up five months after the end of Season 3, with Walker in an era of change. His children are fleeing the nest, his romance with Geri is taking hold, and turmoil is finding Ranger HQ. While Walker struggles in this new uncharted territory, a case from his past threatens to upend his life – and the lives of those he loves. A serial k–ler dubbed as “The Jackal” is very much back, and Walker knows this case nearly broke James in the past.
