School of Magical Animals 2 (German: Die Schule der magischen Tiere 2) is a sequel to the 2021 film of the same name, which was directed by Gregor Schnitzler. The sequel is directed by Sven Unterwaldt Jr. (7 Zwerge, Siegfried, 7 Dwarves: The Forest Is Not Enough, U-900, “Help, I Shrunk My Teacher”, Four Enchanted Sisters, Catweazle). The screenplay is written by Thorsten Näter, Sven Unterwaldt Jr., Alexander Dydyna, and Viola Schmidt, based on the bestselling children book series by Margit Auer. It is scheduled to be released in select US theaters on June 7, 2024, by Blue Fox Entertainment.
The family adventure fantasy film is produced by Anna Niebert. School of Magical Animals 2 won two awards so far, namely Family Entertainment at the Bavarian Film Awards and Audience Award – Highest Grossing Film of the Year at the German Film Awards. The film stars Emilia Maier, Loris Sichrovsky, Leonard Artur Conrads, Marleen Lohse, Justus von Dohnanyi, and Nadja Uhl.
