Late Bloomers tells the story of Louise, an aimless 28-year-old Brooklynite musician, who finds herself suddenly single. While struggling with her underlying depression, she is injured when she drunkenly breaks her hip. The subsequent physical therapy leads her to mingle with people twice her age. Louise soon crosses path with Antonina, a cantankerous elderly Polish woman who speaks no English. Reluctantly, Louise takes on the role of Antonina’s caregiver, a situation neither of them welcomes. As they navigate their begrudging relationship, they confront the realities of aging, forcing Louise to consider her own journey into adulthood.

Late Bloomers is an American coming-of-age comedy drama film, directed by Lisa Steen in her directorial debut, from a screenplay by Anna Greenfield. It is scheduled to be released by Vertical on June 7, 2024 in select US theaters and on VOD.
The comedy film is produced by Alexandra Barreto, Sam Bisbee, and Taylor Feltner. It had its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 10, 2023 and also won Best Film – Independent Visions Award at the 2023 Sarasota Film Festival.
