The Equalizer is an American c–me drama television series co-created by executive producers Richard Lindheim, with Michael Sloan, and Queen Latifah, who also stars as the titular character. It is a reimagining of the 1980s drama of the same name, and is the second reboot in the franchise, following the 2014 film and its 2018 and 2023 sequels. The Equalizer premiered on CBS on February 7, 2021. It was renewed through to a fourth season, which premiered on February 18, 2024.
The series follows Robyn McCall, an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background, who uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn. McCall comes across to most as an average single mom, but to a trusted few, she is “The Equalizer” — an anonymous guardian angel and defender of the downtrodden, who’s also dogged in her pursuit of personal redemption.
