It is the second installment of Wolf Entertainment’s Chicago franchise and is a spin-off of Chicago Fire. The series premiered on NBC on January 8, 2014. It was renewed by NBC through to the eleventh season, which premiered on January 17, 2024.
The series follows the uniformed patrol officers and the Intelligence Unit of the 21st District of the Chicago Police Department led by Detective Sergeant Hank Voight, as they pursue the perpetrators of the city’s major street offenses.
