Fallout is an American post-apocalyptic drama television series created by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan for Amazon Prime Video, with Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner as series’ showrunners. It is based on the immensely popular retro-futuristic role-playing video game franchise created by Interplay Entertainment and now owned by Bethesda Softworks. Fallout is scheduled to premiere all eight episodes on Prime Video on April 10, 2024 at 6PM PT.
The show depicts the aftermath of an apocalyptic nuclear exchange in an alternate history of Earth where advances in nuclear technology after WWII led to the emergence of a retrofuturistic society and a subsequent resource war. The survivors took refuge in fallout bunkers known as Vaults, built to preserve humanity in the event of nuclear annihilation. 219 years later, a young woman named Lucy, leaves behind her home in Vault 33 to venture out into the dangerously brutal, hostile, savage and unforgiving Wasteland of a devastated Los Angeles. She struggles to adapt to the twisted world of the irradiated wasteland, and offers the first glimpse of Moldaver and Ma June.
