Boy Kills World 2024
Boy Kills World is a 2023 action thriller film directed by Moritz Mohr in his feature directorial debut. The screenplay is written by Tyler Burton Smith and Arend Remmers, from a screen story by Remmers and Mohr, based on the short film of the same title by Remmers and Mohr. It is set to be released in US theaters on April 26, 2024, by Lionsgate Films and Roadside Attractions.
The dystopian fever dream action film is produced by Zainab Azizi, Wayne Fitzjohn, Dan Kagan, Alex Lebovici, Roy Lee, Stuart Manashil, Sam Raimi, and Simon Swart. It had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 9, 2023. Boy Kills World stars Bill Skarsgård as “Boy”, with Jessica Rothe, Famke Janssen, Michelle Dockery, Sharlto Copley, and Brett Gelman.
Boy Kills World follows a man named “Boy”, who vows revenge after his family is murdered by Hilda Van Der Koy, the deranged matriarch of a corrupt post-apocalyptic dynasty that left him orphaned, deaf, and voiceless. Driven by his inner voice, one which he co-opted from his favorite childhood video game, Boy trains with a mysterious shaman to become an instrument of death and is set loose on the eve of the annual culling of dissidents. Bedlam ensues as Boy commits bloody martial arts mayhem. As he tries to get his bearings in this delirious realm, he soon falls in with a resistance group, all the while bickering with the apparent ghost of his rebellious little sister.
