A Gentleman in Moscow is a limited television series created by Ben Vanstone for Paramount+ with Showtime, adapted from the 2016 novel of the same name by Amor Towles. Vanstone serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. The series is set for a streaming debut on Paramount+ on March 29, 2024, followed by its On-Air Debut on March 31, 2024 at 8PM EST on Showtime.
The series is executive produced by Tom Harper, Xavier Marchand, Ewan McGregor, Sam Miller, Amor Towles, and Ben Vanstone. Starring Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, with Leah Harvey, Johnny Harris, Paul Ready, and Alexa Goodall.
A Gentleman in Moscow tells the story of Count Alexander Rostov (Ewan McGregor), a Russian aristocrat who finds that his gilded past has placed him on the wrong side of history, after the Russian Revolution. Spared immediate execution, he is placed on house arrest by a Soviet tribunal to an attic room in the opulent Hotel Metropol and threatened with death if he ever sets foot outside again. As the years pass and some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history unfold outside the hotel’s doors, Rostov’s reduced circumstances provide him entry into a much larger world of self-discovery and soon finds the true value of friendship, family, and love.
