Parachute is a 2023 American drama film directed by actress, singer, and filmmaker Brittany Snow, in her directorial debut. The screenplay is co-written by Snow and Becca Gleason. It is set to be released on April 5, 2024 by Vertical Entertainment in select US theaters.
The romance drama film is produced by Brittany Snow, Jordan Yale Levine, Jordan Beckerman, and Lizzie Shapiro. It had its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival on March 11, 2023, where it won the Special Jury Award for Performance – Narrative Feature for Courtney Eaton and the Thunderbird Rising Special Award for its director, Brittany Snow. Parachute stars Courtney Eaton and Thomas Mann, with Francesca Reale, Kid Cudi, Gina Rodriguez, Joel McHale, and Dave Bautista.
Parachute tells the story of Riley, a fun and energetic young woman who struggles with an eating disorder and body image issues; and Ethan, a once-promising musician in the end of his 20s. The two meet and just “click.” To Ethan all of Riley’s flaws are beautiful. Riley adores Ethan and is inspired by his talent and selflessness. Their relationship is a balancing act between their love for each other and their volatile personal issues. But Riley and Ethan truly feel like soulmates and the world makes sense only when they take it on together.
