La Brea is an American science fiction drama television series created and executive produced by David Appelbaum. Produced by Keshet Studios and Universal Television, it premiered on NBC on September 28, 2021. It was renewed through a third and final season consisting of six episodes, which premiered on January 9, 2024. The series finale is scheduled to air on February 13, 2024.
The series centers on the Harris family, who gets separated between two worlds when a massive sinkhole opens up in the middle of Los Angeles. The mother and son fall into a mysterious primeval land alongside a group of strangers trying to figure out where they are, and how to get back home. Left above is a daughter, who barely manages to survive the disaster, and the father, whose troubled past and hallucinations make him an unlikely choice to help solve the mystery – and reunite the family. But when he realizes his visions might just be the key to finding their loved ones, time will be the only thing that stands in their way.
In the third season of the series, the end of an era begins as the survivors stranded in the past fight for one last chance to return home. After delving deeper into the mysteries of the primeval world, the Harris family must race against time to find Eve. The stakes are higher than ever as they face dangerous prehistoric creatures yet – with one shot to reunite and get back to the world they once knew.
