The Gilded Age Season 2 finale
The Gilded Age is an American historical drama television series created and written by Julian Fellowes for HBO that is set in the United States during the titular era, the boom years of the 1880s in New York City. It is a co-production between HBO and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. The series premiered on January 24, 2022 on HBO. In February 2022, The Gilded Age was renewed for a second season, which premiered on October 29, 2023.
The series follows young Marian Brook who moves from rural Pennsylvania to New York City after the death of her father to live with her thoroughly old-money aunts of the van Rhijn-Brook family. She quickly gets entangled in the social war between them and the Russell family, their new-money neighbors. The Gilded Age also shows conflicts faced by the upper and upper middle classes, the Black upper class, and the domestic workers who tend to all of their needs.
In Season 2, Bertha Russell inches toward a leading role in society, Marian starts teaching, Ada begins a new courtship, and Peggy taps into her activist spirit. The Gilded Age stars Carrie Coon, Christine Baranski, Louisa Jacobson, Cynthia Nixon, Morgan Spector, Denée Benton, and Taissa Farmiga.
