Magnum P.I. is an American action drama television series developed by Peter M. Lenkov and Eric Guggenheim that premiered on September 24, 2018, on CBS. In May 2022, it was canceled by CBS after four seasons. The series was picked up by NBC with a two-season, twenty-episode order. The fifth season premiered on February 19, 2023. Magnum P.I. is a reboot of the series of the same name created by Donald P. Bellisario and Glen A. Larson, which aired from 1980 to 1988.
The series stars Jay Hernandez as Thomas Magnum, a private investigator and a decorated former Navy SEAL who solves crimes in Hawaii. When Magnum needs backup on a job, he turns to his trusted buddies and fellow POW survivors Theodore “TC” Calvin (Stephen Hill) and Orville “Rick” Wright (Zachary Knighton), and former MI:6 agent Juliet Higgins (Perdita Weeks).
