Shining Vale Season 2 Episode 5
Shining Vale is an American comedy horror television series created by Jeff Astrof and Sharon Horgan. It premiered on Starz on March 6, 2022. In May 2022, the series was renewed for a second season which premiered on October 13, 2023. Both seasons have been directed entirely by women. Shining Vale stars Courteney Cox, Greg Kinnear, Sherilyn Fenn, Mira Sorvino, Merrin Dungey, and Judith Light.
The series follows a dysfunctional family that moves from the city to a small town after Patricia “Pat” Phelps, a writer who became famous through writing raunchy female empowerment novels, is caught cheating on her husband. The house the family moves into is a place where terrible atrocities have taken place in the past. Nobody seems to suspect anything odd except for Pat who is convinced she is either depressed or possessed. Soon, the demons haunting the family’s new home begin to appear much more real.
Season 2 happens four months after the events of Season 1. Coming home post-breakdown, Pat finds Gaynor doesn’t want her, Terry doesn’t remember her, Jake doesn’t need her, and to make matters worse, her new neighbor Ruth looks exactly like Rosemary. As if that wasn’t enough, the house starts to reveal the shocking secrets of its dark past.
