The Winter King is a British historical fiction television series created by Bernard Cornwell, Kate Brooke, and Ed Whitmore, based on Cornwell’s The Warlord Chronicles novels. The 10-episode series will have its global premiere on premium linear channel and streaming service MGM+ in the United States on August 20, 2023 at 9:00 p.m. EDT/PDT.
The MGM+ original series is a bold and revisionist take on well-loved Arthurian legends. It is produced by Bad Wolf, a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Television. Otto Bathurst serves as lead director.
