What Comes Around 2023
What Comes Around (formerly titled Roost) is a 2022 American drama-thriller film, directed by actress, producer, and filmmaker Amy Redford, in her second feature after directing the 2008 romance drama The Guitar. The screenplay is written by Scott Organ, based on his play The Thing With Feathers. What Comes Around is scheduled to be released on August 4, 2023, by IFC Films in select US theaters.
The film follows Anna, who tells her mother, Beth, that she’s met a boy online. Beth goes on full alert at her daughter’s revelation. It turns out Anna’s new crush is not a boy but a 28-year-old man, who’s saying all the right things to a girl on the verge of 17 as she cradles her phone in her bedroom. Then, without invitation, there he is, on the family’s doorstep.
What Comes Around is produced by Amy Redford, Lynda Weinman, and Eden Wurmfeld. It had its world premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival on September 15, 2022. The film stars Summer Phoenix, Grace Van Dien, Kyle Gallner, Jesse Garcia, and Indiana Affleck.
