It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is an American sitcom created by Rob McElhenney and developed by McElhenney and Glenn Howerton that premiered on August 4, 2005, on FX and later FXX beginning with the ninth season in 2013. With its 15th season, the series became the longest-running live-action American comedy series, replacing The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. In December 2020, the series was renewed for a total of four additional seasons, bringing it to 18 seasons. The 16th season is premiered on June 7, 2023 on FXX. This season will have next day availability on Hulu and will be available on Disney+ under the Star banner in all other territories.
The series follows the exploits of “The Gang”, a group of five ne’er-do-wells who own and operate the Irish dive bar Paddy’s Pub in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Their constant scheming usually lands them in a world of hurt, yet they never seem to learn from their mistakes. As they say, some things never change.
