Endeavour Season 9 finale / Series Finale
Endeavour is a British television detective drama series written by Inspector Lewis creator and Inspector Morse writer Russell Lewis. It is a prequel to the long-running Inspector Morse series. Shaun Evans portrays the young Endeavour Morse beginning his career as a detective constable, and later as a detective sergeant, with the Oxford City Police CID. Endeavour is the third of the Inspector Morse series following the original Inspector Morse (1987-2000) and its spin-off, Lewis (2006-2015). The series finale premiered on July 2, 2023 at 9/8c on Marsterpiece PBS.
Set in 1965, the pilot episode of Endeavour aired on January 2, 2012 on ITV, while the first series broadcast in 2013. Series seven, set in 1970, began screening in February 2020, with the first episode shown in the United States on Masterpiece Theatre on August 9 that year. The ninth season, set in 1972, was confirmed to be the last of the detective series. In the United States, the first episode of the ninth series was broadcast on June 18, 2023.
