Rise (French: En corps) is a comedy drama film directed by acclaimed French filmmaker Cédric Klapisch (Little Nothings, Good Old Daze, Lumiere and Company, When the Cat’s Away, Family Resemblances, Maybe, The Spanish Apartment, “Not for, or Against (Quite the Contrary)”, Russian Dolls, Paris, My Piece of the Pie, Chinese Puzzle, Back to Burgundy, “Someone, Somewhere”), from a screenplay he co-wrote with Santiago Amigorena. Rise is set to be released in select US theaters on June 2, 2023 by Blue Fox Entertainment.
The film is produced by Cédric Klapisch, Bruno Lévy, and Ce Qui Me Meut. Rise had its world premiere at the Rendez-vous d’Unifrance a Paris in January 2022. The film stars Marion Barbeau, Première Danseuse from the famous Paris Opera Ballet company, in her first part as an actress.
A heart-warming and inspiring story, Rise already scored 2 wins and 11 nominations from different film festivals. It received the American Students Award – Feature Film at the COLCOA French Film Festival and Best Feature Film at the Rendez-Vous with French Cinema.
