Falcon Lake 2023
Falcon Lake is a 2022 Canadian-French drama film, directed by actress and filmmaker Charlotte Le Bon, in her feature directorial debut. The screenplay is also written by Le Bon in collaboration with Francois Choquet, and adapted from the graphic novel Une sœur by Bastien Vivès. It is set to be released by Yellow Veil Pictures on June 2, 2023 in select US theaters and on June 13, 2023 On Digital.
The acclaimed romance drama film is produced by Sylvain Corbell, Julien Deris, David Gauquie, and Nancy Grant. Falcon Lake had its world premiere in the Director’s Fortnight program at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival on May 18, 2022. The film stars Joseph Engel, Sara Montpetit, Monia Chokri, Arthur Igual, and Karine Gonthier-Hyndman.
Falcon Lake already won five awards so far, including John Dunning Best First Feature Film Award at the Canadian Screen Awards, CA; Prix d’Ornano-Valenti at the Deauville Film Festival; Gold Hugo – New Directors Competition at the Chicago International Film Festival; Grand Prize at the Bucharest International Film Festival; and Emerging Canadian Director – DGC at the Vancouver International Film Festival.
