Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 2023
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is an American computer-animated superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales / Spider-Man. It is the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and is set in a shared multiverse of alternate universes called the “Spider-Verse”. It is set to be released by Sony Pictures in the United States on June 2, 2023, delayed from an initial April 2022 date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A third installment, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, is scheduled for release on March 29, 2024, while a female-focused spin-off film is in development.
The film is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson (in their feature directorial debuts). The screenplay is written by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham, based on the characters created by Stan Lee. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is produced by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation in association with Marvel Entertainment, with Avi Arad, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Amy Pascal, and Christina Steinberg serving as producers.
In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Miles goes on an adventure with Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman across the Multiverse where he encounters a new team of Spider-People, known as the Spider-Society, who are charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.
