The twenty-first season of the reality show singing competition American Idol premiered on February 19, 2023, on the ABC television network. The Idol Across America virtual auditions program returned from the previous two seasons. “Heart Like a Truck” is a song recorded by American country music singer Lainey Wilson. It was released in May 2022 as the lead single from her second studio album, Bell Bottom Country. It was written by Wilson, Trannie Anderson and Dallas Wilson, and was produced by Jay Joyce. Described as a “song about triumph”, the track has received praise for Wilson’s passionate and powerful vocals and for its poignant and raw lyrics.
