The screenplay is written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, based on the DC Comics character created by Keith Giffen, Cully Hamner, and John Rogers. It is intended to be the 14th film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Blue Beetle is scheduled to be released in the United States on August 18, 2023, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
