– Bella Ramsey as Ellie, a 14-year-old girl who displays much defiance and anger but has a private need for kinship and belonging. She is immune to the Cordyceps infection and may be the key to creating a vaccine. In keeping with the games, she is a lesbian. In the video games, Ellie is played by Ashley Johnson.
– Gabriel Luna as Tommy, Joel’s younger brother

The Last of Us Season 1 finale
The Last of Us is an American post-apocalyptic drama television series created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann for HBO. It is based on the 2013 video game of the same name developed by Naughty Dog. The Last of Us premiered on January 15, 2023. In January 2023, the series was renewed for a second season.
The series is set in 2023, twenty years after a mass fungal infection caused by a mutation in the genus Cordyceps sparked a global pandemic. The Last of Us will follow Joel, a tough survivor, who is hired to smuggle a 14-year-old girl named Ellie out of an oppressive quarantine zone (QZ). What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across a post-apocalyptic United States and depend on each other for survival.
