Nothing in life has been easy for single mom Fire, who became pregnant at 18 and was in and out of foster care her whole life. She’s here at Idol because she wants to get away from exotic dancing and can’t bear seeing her 4-year-old daughter Maja struggle in life the way that Fire did. The IDOL judges don’t find her vocals fiery enough on this try, but thanks to a change of heart from Katy Perry, Fire will get to audition in Nashville at a later date! Stay tuned….

The twenty-first season of the reality show singing competition American Idol premiered on February 19, 2023, on the ABC television network. It is the sixth season to air on ABC since the series’ revival. Ryan Seacrest returned as host, and Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie returned as judges. The Idol Across America virtual auditions program returned from the previous two seasons. The remote auditions took place from August 3 to September 14, 2022, as well as a number of open-call auditions, and from these, the producers selected the contestants who can then audition in front of the judges.
“Talking to the Moon” is a song by American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars from his debut studio album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans (2010). The song was first unveiled on Mars’s debut extended play, It’s Better If You Don’t Understand (2010), as its last track. It was written by Mars, Philip Lawrence, Ari Levine, Albert Winkler, and Jeff Bhasker, while production was handled by the Smeezingtons in collaboration with Bhasker. “Talking to the Moon” is a pop and R&B power ballad about a failed relationship, solitude, and sadness. Instrumentally, the track relies on drum percussion and piano.
