Palm Trees and Power Lines 2023
Palm Trees and Power Lines is a gripping and disturbing teenage drama film which examines the borders between closeness and emotional manipulation. It is directed by Jamie Dack, in her feature directorial debut. The screenplay is written by Dack and Audrey Findlay, from a story by Dack. The film is based on Dack’s 2018 short film of the same name. Palm Trees and Power Lines is scheduled to be released by Momentum Pictures on March 3, 2023 in select US theaters and On Demand.
The film is produced by Leah Chen Baker and Jamie Dack. Palm Trees and Power Lines had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 24, 2022 where it won the Directing Award – U.S. Dramatic for Dack. The film scored more wins in several film festivals including Jury Prize at the 2022 Deauville Film Festival; Best Feature Film and Best Screenplay at the Torino Film Festival; and Seminci Joven Award – Punto de Encudentro and Youth Jury Award – Meeting Point Section at the Valladolid International Film Festival 2022.
Palm Trees and Power Lines stars Gretchen Mol, Jonathan Tucker and newcomer Lily McInerny, who delivers a stunning performance as Lea, a seventeen-year-old who has a life changing encounter with a man twice her age.
