Blueback is an Australian drama film directed by Robert Connolly (The Bank, Three Dollars, Balibo, Underground: The Julian Assange Story, Paper Planes, The Dry). The screenplay is written by Connolly and Tim Winton, based on Winton’s 1997 novel of the same name. Blueback is scheduled to be released in US theaters on March 3, 2023.
The film is produced by Robert Connolly, James Grandison, and Liz Kearney. Blueback had its world premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2022, and had its theatrical release in Australia on January 1, 2023. It stars Mia Wasikowska, Radha Mitchell, Ariel Donoghue, Ilsa Fogg, and Eric Bana.
