The Resident is an American medical drama TV series created by Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore, and Roshan Sethi. It premiered on January 21, 2018, on the Fox Broadcasting Company. The Resident was renewed through to a sixth season, which premiered on September 20, 2022.
The fictional series is based on the book Unaccountable by Marty Makary.
