Disenchanted 2022
Disenchanted is a 2022 American musical fantasy romantic comedy film directed by Adam Shankman (Cosmo’s Tale, The Wedding Planner, A Walk to Remember, Bringing Down the House, The Pacifier, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, Hairspray, Bedtime Stories, Rock of Ages, What Men Want) as a sequel to the 2007 film Enchanted. The teleplay is written by Brigitte Hales, from a story by J. David Stem, David N. Weiss, Richard LaGravenese, based on characters created by Bill Kelly. Disenchanted is scheduled to debut streaming on Disney+ on November 18, 2022.
This musical fantasy film is executive produced by Jo Burn, Sunil Perkash, and Adam Shankman, with Amy Adams, Barry Josephson, and Barry Sonnenfeld serving as producers. Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, and Idina Menzel reprise their roles from the first film, with Gabriella Baldacchino replacing Rachel Covey. They are joined by newcomers Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, Oscar Nunez, and Griffin Newman.
Ten years after her happily ever after, Giselle, Robert, and Morgan move from Manhattan to a new house in the suburb of Monroeville. The community is overseen by local queen bee Malvina Monroe, who has nefarious intentions for the family. Frustrated that her happily ever after hasn’t been so easy to find, she turns to the magic of Andalasia for help, accidentally transforming the entire town into a real-life fairy tale and placing her family’s future happiness in jeopardy. Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the spell and determine what happily ever after truly means to her & her family.
