The twenty-second season of the American reality television series The Voice is set to premiere September 19, 2022 on NBC. Blake Shelton and John Legend are set to return as coaches for their twenty-second and seventh seasons respectively. Gwen Stefani, who last coached on season 19, is set to return as a coach for her sixth season. Camila Cabello is set to make her first appearance as a coach this season. Meanwhile, Carson Daly will return as host for his twenty-second season. Beginning with this primetime scheduling cycle, only one season of The Voice will air per cyclical year.
“Islands in the Stream” is a song written by the Bee Gees and recorded by American country music artists Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. Named after an Ernest Hemingway novel, it was released in August 1983 as the first single from Rogers’s album Eyes That See in the Dark. The song was originally written for Diana Ross in an R&B style but later reworked for the duet by Rogers and Parton. The Bee Gees released a live version of the song in 1998 and a studio version in 2001.
