In the Dark is an American drama television series, created by Corinne Kingsbury for The CW. It debuted on April 4, 2019 and was renewed through the fourth season, which premiered on June 6, 2022. In May 2022, it was announced that the fourth season will be its last.
The series centers on Murphy Mason (Perry Mattfeld), an irreverent blind woman in her twenties who drifts through life in a drunken haze. When police do not seem inclined to investigate the death of her friend Tyson, a teenage dr– dealer, she resolves to solve the m—-r herself. At the same time, she was also managing her colorful dating life and the job she hates at “Guiding Hope”, a school run by her parents for training guide dogs.
In Season Four, Murphy must work closely with her ex, Max (Casey Deidrick), her best friend Felix (Morgan Krantz), and his sister Lesley (Marianne Rendon) to keep herself out of jail for her c–mes. But staying out of jail proves difficult when Josh Wallace (Theodore Bhat), a Chicago PD consultant and Murphy’s ex-fling, doubles down on his obsession with Murphy. Working with detectives Gene Clemens (Matt Murray) and Sarah Barnes (Ana Ayora), Josh is bent on putting Murphy back behind bars.
