The twentieth season of the reality show singing competition American Idol premiered on February 27, 2022 on the ABC television network. It is the fifth season to air on ABC since the series’ revival. Ryan Seacrest returned as host, and Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie returned as judges. Bobby Bones did not return as in-house mentor.
“Rewrite the Stars” is a song performed by Zac Efron and Zendaya for the film The Greatest Showman (2017). It was released on November 17, 2017 by Atlantic Records as a promotional single from The Greatest Showman: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. In Australia, “Rewrite the Stars” was released to radio on July 20, 2018. The song sees Efron’s character, Phillip, serenading Zendaya’s character, Anne, and trying to convince her that they’re meant to be together, despite their differences, their differences being her race. Anne was treated differently because of the colour of her skin and she felt it all the time. Phillip genuinely loved her and was most oblivious of how she felt about people seeing it thinking about them being together.
