Magnum P.I. is an American c–me action drama television series developed by Peter M. Lenkov and Eric Guggenheim that premiered on September 24, 2018, on CBS. It stars Jay Hernandez as Thomas Magnum, a private investigator and former Navy SEAL who solves cr–es in Hawaii. It is a reboot of the series of the same name starring Tom Selleck as Thomas Magnum, a private investigator based in Oahu, Hawaii. Magnum lives on the estate of multi-millionaire author Robin Masters (Orson Welles), who is never there. Magnum’s daily life involves him butting heads with the estate’s butler, Jonathan Higgins (John Hillerman), and investigations throughout Oahu, in which he is aided by his close friends, Theodore “T.C.” Calvin (Roger E. Mosley) and Rick Wright (Larry Manetti).
