The Desperate Hour (originally titled Lakewood) is a thriller film directed by acclaimed filmmaker Phillip Noyce (Newsfront, Heatwave, Dead Calm, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, The Bone Collector, The Quiet American, Rabbit-Proof Fence, Catch A Fire, Salt, The Giver, Above Suspicion). The screenplay is written by Chris Sparling.
Lead star Naomi Watts is one of the film’s producers, along with David Boies, Andrew Corkin, Alex Lalonde, Chris Parker, Zack Schiller, Dylan Sellers, and Chris Sparling. It premiered at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, 2021. The Desperate Hour is scheduled to be released by Roadside Attractions and Vertical Entertainment in select US theaters and on VOD on February 25, 2022.
