S.W.A.T. is an American action drama television series, based on the 1975 television series of the same name created by Robert Hamner and developed by Rick Husky. The new series was developed by Aaron Rahsaan Thomas and Shawn Ryan.
The series centers on Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, a lifelong Los Angeles local and former Marine who has been tapped to lead a new “last stop” Special W—— and Tactics unit. The show exists in a shared universe with the FX c—- drama The Shield, which Shawn Ryan also created.
