After Life is a British dark comedy-drama television series created, written, produced, and directed by Ricky Gervais, who is also the star. It premiered on March 8, 2019 on Netflix and was renewed for a second season, which premiered on April 24, 2020. The third and final season is set to premiere on January 14, 2022.
The series is set in the fictional town of Tambury and follows newspaper writer Tony Johnson, whose life is turned upside down after his wife d–s from breast cancer. Struggling to come to terms with his wife’s d–th, Tony adopts a gruff new persona in an effort to push away those trying to help.
