The Northman 2022
The Northman is an American epic historical thriller film directed by acclaimed filmmaker Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse), from a screenplay co-written by Eggers and Icelandic poet, novelist, and lyricist Sjón. It stars Alexander Skarsgård as the Viking prince Amleth, who is on a quest to avenge his father’s m—er. Nicole Kidman, Anya Taylor-Joy, Claes Bang, Ethan Hawke, Björk, and Willem Dafoe appear in supporting roles.
This action-filled revenge film is produced by Mark Huffam, Lars Knudsen, and Arnon Milchan. Alexander Skarsgård serves as an executive producer, alongside Yariv Milchan and Michael Schaefer. Filming took place in locations throughout Northern Ireland and Ireland. The Northman is scheduled to be released in select US theaters on April 22, 2022 by Focus Features, and will be distributed internationally by Universal Pictures.
