NCIS is an American police procedural television series, revolving around a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service which conducts cr—nal investigations involving the United States Navy and Marine Corps personnel regardless of rank or position. Leading this team is NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), a skilled investigator who is smart, tough, and willing to bend the rules to get the job done.
The show, a spin-off from JAG, premiered on September 23, 2003, on CBS. Donald P. Bellisario and Don McGill are co-creators and executive producers of the premiere member of the NCIS franchise. The nineteenth season of NCIS premiered on September 20, 2021, on CBS. The season is the first with Katrina Law and Gary Cole following the departures of Maria Bello and Emily Wickersham during the previous season. On June 21, 2021, it was reported that Harmon would only appear in a limited capacity during season 19. Having found peace in Alaska for the first time since his family’s death, Harmon’s character (Gibbs) leaves NCIS as a regular after the fourth episode, “Great Wide Open”.
