Cyrano is a re-imagining the timeless tale of a heartbreaking love triangle. It tells the story of Cyrano de Bergerac (Peter Dinklage), who dazzles whether with ferocious wordplay at a verbal joust or with brilliant swordplay in a duel. But, convinced that his appearance renders him unworthy of the love of a devoted friend, the luminous Roxanne (Haley Bennett), Cyrano has yet to declare his feelings for her – and Roxanne has fallen in love at first sight, with Christian (Kelvin Harrison, Jr). This musical drama film is directed by Joe Wright (Pride & Prejudice, Atonement, The Soloist, Hanna, Anna Karenina, Pan, Darkest Hour, The Woman in the Window) and written by Erica Schmidt, based on Schmidt’s 2018 stage musical of the same name, originally adapted from the 1897 Edmond Rostand play Cyrano de Bergerac. Cyrano stars Peter Dinklage and Haley Bennett, who reprise their roles from the stage musical. Also starring Kelvin Harrison Jr., Bashir Salahuddin, and Ben Mendelsohn.

Cyrano is produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Guy Heeley. The film had its world premiere at the 48th Telluride Film Festival on September 2, 2021. It is set to be released in select US theaters on December 31, 2021.
Principal photography took place in Sicily in October 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy.
