Chucky is an American horror television series adaptation based on the Child’s Play film franchise. It serves as a sequel to Cult of Chucky, the seventh film in the franchise.
After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, the idyllic American town of Hackensack is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying m—–s begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the k——s, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.
Starring mostly teenagers, the series tackles themes of s——ty, b——g, domestic life and m—–, being advertised as a “coming of rage” story. The main character, Jake Wheeler, finds himself prompted to h——-l acts by the doll while also struggling with his crush on classmate Devon and other issues that arise from being gay in unaccepting environments.
