DC’s Stargirl, or simply Stargirl, is an American drama web TV series created by Geoff Johns that premiered on DC Universe on May 18, 2020. It is based on the DC Comics superhero Courtney Whitmore created by Johns and Lee Moder. The series premiered its first season on DC Universe on May 18, 2020, and also aired the following day on the broadcast network The CW. In July 2020, Stargirl was renewed for a second season, subtitled Summer School, which premiered on August 10, 2021 as an original series on The CW. In May 2021, the series was renewed for a third season.
Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) who discovers the cosmic staff and inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to take up the legacy of a long lost superhero team – The Justice Society of America.
