Madres tells the story of a Mexican-American couple who are expecting their first child. They relocate to a migrant farming community in 1970s California. When the wife begins to experience strange symptoms and terrifying visions, she tries to determine if it’s related to a legendary curse or something more evil. This horror film is part of Amazon Prime Video’s Welcome to the Blumhouse horror series showcasing original genre stories from diverse casts and filmmakers. Madres is the feature directorial debut of Ryan Zaragoza, the director of the short films The Painter, Bebe, and Sterling and a couple of episodes of the televison series All American. The script is written by Mario Miscione and Marcella Ochoa. The film stars Ariana Guerra, Tenoch Huerta, Elpidia Carrillo, Kerry Cahill, and Jennifer Patino.
