A year after the loss of his father, Ridley (Milan Burch) and his mother, Gloria (Victoria Hill), move from New York City to Western Australia to live with Ridley’s estranged grandfather (Bill Nighy). Ridley ends up lost in the Outback, and comes across a wild dog, entangled in an old barbed-wire fence. English actor Bill Nighy (age 71) portrays the role of Spencer. Nighy became widely known for his role as Billy Mack in Love Actually (2003). His film credits include the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, the Underworld film series, Shaun of the Dead, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, The Constant Gardener, Notes on a Scandal, Valkyrie, The Boat That Rocked, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. In 2006, Nighy won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Mini-Series or TV Movie for his performance in Gideon’s Daughter. His performances in the TV films The Girl in the Café and Page Eight, also earned Golden Globe nominations.
