Wildfire tells the story of inseparable sisters Lauren and Kelly, who were raised in a small town on the Irish border. Their lives were shattered with the mysterious death of their mother. Left to pick up the pieces after her sister abruptly disappeared, Lauren is suddenly confronted with the family’s dark and traumatic past when Kelly returns home after being reported missing for a whole year. This Irish drama thriller film is written and directed by Cathy Brady, in her feature directorial debut. Wildfire stars Nora-Jane Noone and Nika McGuigan, in her last film role. McGuigan passed away while the movie was in post production.

Wildfire is produced by David Collins, Carlo Cresto-Dina, and Charles Steel. It is set to be released by Modern Films in UK and Ireland theaters on September 3, 2021. No US release date has been set.
The film debuted in the Discovery Showcase at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival and was in the Great 8 Showcase at the Cannes Film Festival. Wildfire won the IWC Schaffhausen Filmmaker Bursary Award at the London BFI Film Festival 2020.
