Annette tells the story of a stand-up comedian named Henry (Adam Driver), and his wife Ann (Marion Cotillard), a world-famous soprano. In the spotlight, they are the perfect couple, healthy, happy, and glamourous. This musical drama film is directed by Leos Carax (Boy Meets Girl, Bad Blood, The Lovers on the Bridge, Pola X, Holy Motors), in his English-language debut. The screenplay is written by by Ron Mael and Russell Mael (aka the Sparks Brothers), from an original idea by Carax. It stars Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard.

Annette is produced by Adam Driver, Charles Gillibert, and Paul-Dominique Win Vacharasinthu. It will premiere at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival as the opening night film on July 6, 2021, and will be released in France by UGC Distribution on the same day. Annette is scheduled to be released in select US theaters on August 6, 2021 prior to digital streaming on Amazon Prime Video on August 20, 2021.
Filming for Annette took place in Los Angeles, Brussels, and Bruges as well as various locations in Germany including Münster, Cologne, and Bonn. Production concluded in November 2019.
