The nineteenth season of the reality show singing competition American Idol premiered on February 14, 2021 on the ABC television network. It is the fourth season to air on ABC since the series reboot; Ryan Seacrest returns as host. Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie return as judges and Bobby Bones as mentor.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, the show offered its first ever live virtual auditions to aspiring contestants through its Idol Across America program using custom-built Zoom technology. The remote auditions took place from August 10 to October 28, 2020 in 50 states plus Washington, D.C. as well as a number of open call auditions, and from these the producers selected the contestants who can then audition in front of the judges.
“Everglow” is a song by British rock band Coldplay. It is the fourth track, promotional single and fifth single proper from their seventh studio album, A Head Full of Dreams. The song features uncredited guest vocals by Gwyneth Paltrow, who, at the time, was married to Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin. The track premiered during Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show on 26 November 2015. It was released as a promotional single for the album on 27 November 2015.
