The Masked Dancer is a British reality dancing competition television series based on the American television series of the same name. It premiered on ITV on 29 May 2021.
On 4 March 2021, it was announced that ITV were producing a local version of the American television dancing competition The Masked Dancer following the success of its sister show The Masked Singer. The show is produced by the British television production company Bandicoot, part of the Argonon Group, the same company who produced The Masked Singer. The series will consist of 12 contestants competing through seven episodes. The series was commissioned as a replacement in the spring schedule for Britain’s Got Talent, which had its upcoming fifteenth series postponed until 2022 due to health and safety concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The show premiered on 29 May 2021.
“Car Wash” is a song by American soul and R&B band Rose Royce. It was the group’s debut single and one of the most notable successes of the 1970s disco era. “Car Wash”, the theme of the 1976 film of the same name, was Rose Royce’s most successful single and the lead single from their debut studio album, the Car Wash soundtrack. Reaching number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Soul Singles charts, “Car Wash” also peaked at number three on the National Disco Action Top 30 chart and reached number nine on the UK Singles Chart in February 1977. The song was later covered in 2004 by Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliott, who released their version as the single for the Shark Tale soundtrack.
