The Grand Finale of American Idol 2021 aired May 23, 2021, with three contestants gunning for the crown namely, Chayce Beckham, Grace Kinstler, and Willie Spence. Startattle.com – American Idol.
The finalists performed two to three songs each – a Judges’ Choice Song for Round One, a Hometown Song for Round Two, and a Reprise Song for Round Three for the top two contestants.
Grace Kinstler, a 20-year-old college student from Chicago, performed “All by Myself” by Eric Carmen and “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston. She was cut after Round 2 of the Grand Finale and ended up in third place.
Willie Spence (age 21), a caretaker from Douglas, California sang “Georgia on My Mind” by Ray Charles and “A Change is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke. He performed “Stand Up” by Cynthia Erivo for Round 3 against Chayce Beckham. Spence eventually finished runner-up this season.
Chayce Beckham (age 24), a heavy machinery operator from Apple Valley, California, chose to perform “Blackbird” by the Beatles for Round One, “Fire Away” by Chris Stapleton for Round Two, and “Afterglow” by Ed Sheeran for Round Three. Beckham garnered the most number of votes and was announced as winner of American Idol 2021 (Season 19).
The American Idol 2021 winner gets a record deal with Hollywood Records plus a cash prize which is reportedly around $250,000.

The nineteenth season of the reality show singing competition American Idol premiered on February 14, 2021 on the ABC television network. It is the fourth season to air on ABC since the series reboot; Ryan Seacrest returned as host. Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie returned as judges and Bobby Bones as mentor.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, the show offered its first ever live virtual auditions to aspiring contestants through its Idol Across America program using custom-built Zoom technology. The remote auditions took place from August 10 to October 28, 2020 in 50 states plus Washington, D.C. as well as a number of open call auditions, and from these the producers selected the contestants who can then audition in front of the judges.
