The fifth season of the American television series The Masked Singer had its premiere on Fox on March 10, 2021.
Singer-songwriter Robin Thicke, television and radio personality Jenny McCarthy, actor and comedian Ken Jeong, and recording artist Nicole Scherzinger returned for their fifth season as panelists. Regular host Nick Cannon tested positive for COVID-19 a few days before production was set to begin in February 2021. Niecy Nash is currently the guest host for an unannounced number of episodes.
The season began with two groups of five, Group A and Group B, then will introduce a new twist in which “wild card” contestants will enter the competition throughout the run of the show for a chance to unseat another contestant. The contestants for Season 5 have a combined “26 Grammy nominations, nine multi-platinum singles, four Oscar nominations, three Super Bowl appearances, six gold medals and two world records among them”. Costumes for this season include Black Swan, Chameleon, Grandpa Monster, Phoenix, Piglet, Raccoon, Robopine, Russian Dolls, Seashell, and Snail. This season also includes a non-contestant mask called “Cluedle-Doo”, who will interrupt the show and give out new clues.
“7 Years” is a song released as a digital download on September 18 2015 from Danish soul-pop band Lukas Graham’s second studio album, Lukas Graham. The song topped the Danish Singles Chart and the charts in Australia, Austria, Italy, New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland, Sweden and the United Kingdom. It peaked within the top ten of the charts in many other European countries and the United States. It was nominated for three Grammy Awards: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
